Sober Living House of Athens provides a safe, structured home for men who desire a life free of addiction — offering recovery, community, and the skills to build lasting independence.

"Recovery is a lifelong endeavor, only taken one day at a time."
— SLHOA Mission
The Sober Living House of Athens, LLC (SLHOA) is an adult sober living home designed as a safe environment to grow in personal development, spiritual development, and recovery. We provide a structured, supportive community for men who have the desire to live a life free of addiction.
Our vision is to assist men in finding their way out of addictive environments by providing self-sustaining life skills — including repairs, cleaning, and gardening — while directing them to 12-step programs and supporting their re-entry into the workforce.
Our four-phase, 52-week program provides a clear, structured path from early recovery to lasting independence and self-sufficiency.
Build the foundation of your recovery. Residents must attend 6 meetings per week (2 in-house, 4 off-site), obtain a sponsor within 4 weeks, and secure employment or volunteer work within two weeks of entry.
After 90 days of continuous sobriety and meeting all requirements, residents earn a 24-hour weekend pass. Accountability to approved destinations remains in effect.
Beginning at week 17 (112 days), residents receive one 48-hour pass per calendar month. Continued commitment to meetings and house responsibilities is required.
Beginning at week 26 (182 days), residents receive two 48-hour passes per calendar month, reflecting the trust and independence earned through sustained recovery.
At SLHOA, residents learn self-sustaining life skills through hands-on participation in home maintenance, cleaning, and gardening. These activities build responsibility, pride of ownership, and the practical skills needed for independent living.
Weekly house meetings held every Tuesday and Thursday at 7:30 PM provide a space for community discussion, accountability, and shared growth. Formal 12-Step meetings begin at 8:00 PM for those with sponsors or guest speakers.

We welcome all men regardless of race, color, national origin, religion, or age.
